We meet on the first Saturday of the month from 10.30am to about 12.30pm except where that Saturday falls on a public holiday weekend when it either moves to the Saturday before or after.

February 4th 

Late Winter tidy-up

Pruning, if it looks as if Spring is on its way, and dividing plants

 

March 3rd

March Makeover

When the garden starts to wake up after the Winter.

 

March 31st (as the first Saturday in April is Easter weekend)

Springtime Planting

Planting and dealing with early weeds.This is the 2nd Saturday in April because of Easter weekend being on the 1st Saturday

 

May 12th (due to the Mayday holiday the week before)

Marvellous May Maintenance

Planting and weeding at a particularly lush and colourful time for the garden. This is the second Saturday of the month because of the May Bank Holiday weekend.

 

June 9th June (because of H.M The Queen's Diamond Jubilee holiday the week before),

Summer Maintenance

Feeding, watering and weeding to keep the garden flourishing throughout the Summer.This is currently the time of year when the garden is at its most colourful.

 

July 7th

Summer Maintenance

Dealing with the inevitable fast growing weeds and making sure that the bindweed is kept as much under control as possible.

 

August 4th

Summer Maintenance

Attacking those weeds and tidying up Summer plants that have finished flowering

 

September 1st

Autumn Pruning

Dead-heading the roses, clearing leaf debris and preparing the garden for Autumn..

 

October 6th

Those Autumn Jobs

Trimming shrubs and clearing Summer bedding plants

 

November 10th (to avoid the fireworks weekend)

Dividing Herbaceous Plants

This is when herbaceous plants can best be divided. It is also the time to plant new bulbs ready for next Spring. Don't forget this is a week earlier than usual because of the bonfire and fireworks in the park on 5 November.

Tidying December Debris

In the run up to Christmas, as the garden looks sparse, time for some end of year tidying.
